Another day with a fresh breeze forecast, this time from the SW building during the day with showers again so I was not sure where to go but I much prefer to sail on the sea when I can with Levington being my go to winter venue! Then the Hurrells messaged to ask if we were free and arranged a get together at 3 in the afternoon so that made my mind up to stay in Felixstowe which proved the right decision as it turned out to be a top session! I messaged Al Wiz who said he was heading out after breakfast so I followed suite! I arrived at Squiz Lane with Mag again at 8.50 in lovely sunshine with a nice breeze blowing from the wsw, a tad offshore making the sea really smooth! I quickly set-up and took a chance with my new 5.75 again, quickly becoming my favourite sail! I sailed just over an hour to start, maybe a tad overpowered but I did some nice long runs making the most of the low tide meaning that the Wadgate break was working, was getting some OK gybes too, in fact I did about 40 today and managed to stay dry! Getting tired I came ashore for a snack as Al Wiz headed out on his fin board with 7m, the wind had eased and he was struggling to get plaaning:( I nearly packed up but the wind had eased, the sun was out and the sea had calmed so headed out again for another 15 miles in the sun, just lovely sailing, nothing overly fast just enjoying the swells. I came ashore checked my gps only to find I needed one more long run to make 30 miles for the day so headed out for one last run, now I was officially knackered!!! While packing up Al Wiz came to stay hello, now out with his 7.5 and I was still home by 1.15 which left me enough time to send some pics to the TV weather and shower before our friend the Hurrells arrived, Mag had been busy in the kitchen baking two cakes and some yummy tomato chutney! Neil and Linda arrived spot on at 3 and we had a lovely afternoon over a cuppa and cake catching up, its always nice to see them:) While we were chatting the skies darkened, the wind increased, gusting to 38 knots, it rained hard and we had some brilliant thunder and lightning. Loved it! Top day, windy again tomorrow but thankfully it a Granddaughter day, might get out on the water on Saturday before some really big winds arrive!
