Saturday 30th August  – Windsurf **** The Manor at Felixstowe  –  sunny and warm.

Foil – 17.09  knot max, 16.00 knot ave., 13.05  knot hour, 15.53 knot mile, 35.60 km., 11.43 knot alpha. 

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Storm 6.50.

After missing the last three breezy days, Wednesday - a big get together of neighbours lasting 5 hoiurs, Thursday – an appointment in Ipswich with a picnic on the waterfront and Friday – a brilliant day with the Granddaughter, the lovely Maeva, so we certainly enjoyed our days! Todays forecast was 15 knots from the south and sunny, clouding over with the wind increasing to fresh! I was keen to get down to The Manor as early as possible to get a parking spot in Squiz Lane and to make the most of the low tide but the wind was WSW and fairly light:( It started to build so we drove down easily parking at Squiz Lane, Mag came with me for her daily walk and some numpty had parked their large campervan on the prom in front of the beach huts which did not go down well with many people walking past! :( Since campervans have been banned from The Fludyers they are now parking all along the seafront with Squiz Lane becoming popular too:( With the wind still light I walked I walked with Mag down to the small yellow hut kiosk before heading back with the breeze building so I set up my foil board and rigged my 6.5, I noticed I had a broken battern but used it anyway! Al Wiz came down for a chat saying he was about to rig 7.5 on his big board! I launched with the breeze still crossoff but I did manage to get up and flying 400m off the beach and didn’t look back. Making the most of about 14 knots of wind and a super smooth sea, I had one long run out to check the conditions before having a brilliant long broad run down past the pier before beating back, just me out in the sunshine before I was joined on the water by a couple of fin sailors as the wind had turned south and picked as had the sea state! With the wind now 20 knots my sail did not fill right with the broken battern so I decided to call it a day but I had been out a couple of hours which meant I was home just after one to empty my trailer of the damaged sails and put my new Tushinham Bolts in, looking forward to using them! I had a cuppa with Mag before doing my exercises in the back garden as it clouded over!
