Saturday 26th  April  – Windsurf ** The Dip at Felixstowe  –  hazy.

Foil – 18.02  knot max, 16.59 knot ave., 7.56  knot hour, 14.72 knot mile, 20.00 km., 8.13 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Storm 6.5.

I arrived at The Dip about 3.15 with David out on his longboard with 9.5 and Ian was winging with 6m so I quickly set up my gear and took a chance with my 6.5, to be honest that was too small but I dislike foiling with big sails! After a couple of floundering runs I was able to pump up into the foil and had some lovely long runs in a super smooth sea sadly I was underpowered when gybing so came off the foil and had to pump up again. Shame the sun from the morning and it was really hazy on the coast but this was a bit of a bonus session being unexpected, April has been a top month so far with 10 sessions with several being 5 stars too!

Saturday 26th April -  walks ***   –  Felixstowe Ferry and Felixstowe prom  –  sunny periods.

Walk 1 – Felixstowe Ferry.

No plans for today as was susposwed to be light winds with sunny periods, after a bit of a lay-in I drove down to Felixstowe Ferry to take a few weather pics, I know it’s a waste of time being the weekend put it was good fun anyway:) I parked near the Martello tower and walked to the boatyard just as my favourite white fishing boat headed out and the kids were out in first for the years first sail including lots of first time sailers, a kayaker getting a lesson plus several yachts heading out, so I spent a very pleasant hour wandering about taking pics:) It was then home to sort out the pics, breakfast and do my exercises in the garden!

Walk 2 Felixstowe prom including a picnic in the Spa Gardens.

With the wind light I packed a picnic but just before we were due to set off David Coles messaged on Whatsup saying he was at The Dip with the NE breeze building and he was about to sail on his raceboard gear with a new 9.5 sail! Mag and I still headed out around two, just down the hill to Felixstowe prom into a breeze, we found a sheltered spot in the Spa gardens for lunch. We then headed for home leaving me enough time to hitch the windsurf trailer to check out The Dip!
