Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Naish Nalu 4.7.

Wow my second 5 Star session at The Dip this month, in fact April has been my best month since last October! A big shout out to Ian C who messaged me last night saying he was hopefull of an afternoon session today and got it spot-on! The wind started north which left me the morning free, I had a quick drive round Felixstowe taking bluebell pics to send to the TV weather before returning home to do my exercises in the sunny back garden:) The wind didn’t look promising at one but Ian said he was heading down so I hitched the trailer and set-off dropping Mag off at The Fludyers for her daily walk! Ian was already there and it looked good with a solid 20 knots from the NE so I quickly set up my foil board and rigged 4.7 which proved absolutely perfect for the whole two hour session! It was fairly quiet with three wingers out on 4m, two windsurfer foilers plus around 5 kiters out enjoying the sunshine:) Launching just before 2.30 I was soon up on the foil and hardly came off it the whole time not falling in once, the small sail gybes really well especially offshore where the sea was fairly big! I had a range of runs from long 1.5 mile ones to shorter runs where the wingers were where the water was a little smoother! It was a good session for wildlife, winger Michael spooked a Garfish which leap out of the water, then I spotted a porpoise which is always grat to see, only my third seen at Felixstowe! I did push it downwind a few times and managed some OK speeds considering the state of the sea, am loving open sea sailing especially with small sail – top top session!

No wind now for awhile so looking forward to spending the day with Maeva tomorrow where we are going for a picnic out looking for bluebells:)
