Welcome to the 2026 Irish Speed Foil Rally, the official IWA (Irish Windsurfing Association) speed foil event which will crown the fastest foiler in Irish waters each year.

The event runs from the 1st of January 2026 to the 31st of December 2026.

The rules of the event are simple. Simply record your speed using your favourite GPS (see gps-foil surfing for device info) and upload your sessions on http://www.gps-foilsurfing.com 

Every session in Irish water counts for the Irish ranking (Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland). But you must first subscribe to the event. You can also add your existing sessions by editing your sessions (under my' sessions/ admin sessions') and then selecting the 'Irish Speed Foil Rally' under 'event name'.

The average speed that is used for the ranking is measured over 250m in 2026. One single run of 250m is enough to make it count which means that you can compete from pretty much any spot around the coast of Ireland.

For 2026, we will also acknowledge the longest distance sailed in a single day

Also in 2026 we’ll acknowledge the sailor who covered the most cumulative distance foiling over the entire year
