Good session in light NW breeze on big foil gear at Kurnell, NSW, AU

  • FMX 91
  • F4 945 front wing, 115+ Fuselage and 230cm and 210cm (small shim) rear wings
  • Phantom 10.0

I setup large, with medium rear wing and skinny shim in fading breeze, only to get hit with some big gusts... then it calmed down, so I tried the big rear wing without any shims, and found a new respect for this setup! It is about 1 knot slower but can point OMG VMG!

Also found that 136 is too far forward for the mast base, 134 is too far back and 135 is the sweet spot!

And the gybes! OMG I did some beauties, sail pivoting like a ballerina, foil responsive underfoot,... just wow. Need to do about 100 more but feeling much more confident on the big race gear now. If only we could race  Damn COVID.

Fully stocked.
