The wind Gods just keep on giving with sunshine with 15 degrees plus a good SSW wind possibly gusting over 30 knots there was only one option for me, back to Levington Marina for my 112 session of the year, foiling certainly gives you much more time on the water:) I arrived by the Orwell around ten, a fraction early for foiling as the tide was still a little low, so I took my big freeride board to the water hoping to fin as I have been on the foil a lot lately but the wind did not look strong enough so set up the foil and my favourite 7m Lightning, expecting that to be a bit on the large side as I set off. In the end I had over two really full on hours on the foil sailing from the corner down towards Pin Mill with wind gusting close to 30 knots at times making flying level a challenge:) It was particularly windy on the corner but there were also some solid gusts in the flatter area towards Pin Mill. A large red coaster came up river heading to Ipswich which I followed easily overtaking it as its wake was causing havoc with my foil! The 7m sail handles the big winds fine but I had too much sail today to follow Andy M around to the Stour so just did long runs in front on the marina, such great fun, all the better for the sun being out! It was too windy at times to go really fast and I nearly did a couple of back loops when the foil came out of the water, also it was not a day to practice my gybes so mainly tacked. The water conditions would have been good for a fin board too so at around high water I headed in for a quick snack and try out the fin board which was already on the beach. I then had a nice hour on the fin after planning away from the beach towards Pin Mill. Again, I had some nice long runs beating towards the corner. Then speeding back running down the swell. With the tide now turned and the wind going patchy it was time to call it a day after covering over 40 miles, best of both worlds again today, several out here of which most had a good day:)
